Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item that Citerank, or a service we use, sets when you visit citerankscore.com. We keep this list short and honest: we do not use cross-site advertising cookies, and we do not sell any data collected here.

1. Strictly necessary always on

These are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off. They do not track you across other websites.

NameSet byPurposeDuration
sb_tokenCiterank (Supabase Auth)Keeps you signed in. httpOnly, so it cannot be read by page JavaScript.Session / until logout

We also use browser localStorage (not a cookie, but similar in effect) to remember non-sensitive preferences on your device: your light/dark theme, the last domain you audited, and dismissed-banner state. Nothing in localStorage is your session token or password, and none of it leaves your browser.

2. Analytics can be blocked

We use these to understand aggregate traffic and product usage. They are not used for cross-site ad targeting, and blocking them does not affect your ability to use Citerank.

ProviderCookies setPurposeDuration
Google Analytics_ga, _ga_*Aggregate traffic measurement (pages viewed, referral source, general usage patterns)Up to 2 years
Microsoft Clarity_clck, _clsk, CLIDSession recordings and heatmaps to understand on-page behavior. Never captures password field contents.Up to 1 year

You can block both of these with your browser's tracking-protection settings, an extension like uBlock Origin, or Do Not Track. Blocking them has no effect on account features, billing, or audit results.

3. What we don't do

  • We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • We do not sell cookie or usage data to data brokers or ad networks.
  • We do not use fingerprinting techniques to identify you across browsers or devices.

4. How to control cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their privacy settings. Blocking the analytics cookies above will not break Citerank. Blocking or deleting the sb_token cookie will sign you out and you will need to log in again.

5. Changes to this policy

If we add a new analytics or advertising provider, we will update this page and, for material changes, note it in our Privacy Policy change log.

6. Questions

Use our contact form with any cookie or tracking question.
